FINELY MADE ENGLISH WINE TAKES FLIGHT

We took a bold leap and we bought a vineyard.

And, when a pair of kites began circling overhead, nesting in the oaks beside the vines, Wild Kite found its name.

We threw ourselves into year one - installing frost fans, buying a new tractor, building a tractor shed, establishing the winery, studying at Plumpton – Britain’s Centre of Excellence in wine education - and finally bringing in our first harvest and pressing our first wine.

It’s been hands-on and headfirst from the start - and this is only the beginning.

MADE AT ARUN VALLEY VINEYARD

Our Wild Kite wines are made from grapes grown at our Arun Valley Vineyard, set within one of the UK’s most beautiful and biodiverse landscapes.

The River Arun winds through floodplains and chalk grasslands from the South Downs to Arundel and the coast. The Surrey Hills rise behind our vines, each field framed by ancient oaks – one home to the wild kites that we named our wines after.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

We visited Wild Kite earlier this year and tasted some truly beautiful wines. The rosé in particular has us very excited, we can’t wait to get our hands on a bottle. We loved the vineyard itself and hearing about what is growing and what it will become. And seeing the wine in those gorgeous barrels when we went inside was exceptional. Nicola and John are so knowledgeable and passionate, and it shows in every glass. We feel genuinely lucky to have such a wonderful vineyard on our doorstep.

Daniel and Mary Crowley

We have loved our visits to the vineyard. It’s a beautiful site and it’s been fascinating to see it develop through the seasons. It’s been an education watching the wine making process and delightful to see the passion that Nicola and John have brought to this process.
